Anthony Bourdain’s Former Upper East Side Condo Is Under Contract for $3.3 Million

Anthony Bourdain’s former luxury condo on New York City’s Upper East Side has officially found a buyer, and is currently in contract for $3.3 million, the New York Post reports. The unit, which spans a generous 2,238 square feet, includes four bedrooms, but is advertised as having a “flexible layout” that can easily accommodate a fifth bedroom or a library if the new resident desires.

The home, with clean white walls and finished hardwood floors throughout, is flooded with ample natural light courtesy of a number of oversize windows that look out over a tree-lined garden courtyard. The bedrooms all have their own wings, while the main living space consists of an open-plan living and dining area with built-in storage and, fittingly, a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen with a six-burner stove, a bevy of top-line appliances, and a long marble countertop perfect for entertaining guests.

An unusual feature of the home is its Japanese-style bathroom in the master suite, which features a deep-soaking bamboo tub with a separate subway-tile-lined, glass-enclosed steam shower. Building amenities available to residents include an exercise room, a terrace garden, a bicycle room, private storage, a garage, and a full-time concierge.

Bourdain, who died by suicide in June 2018, originally purchased the condo with his wife, Ottavia Busia, for $3.35 million in 2014; they later separated. The celebrity chef and host of the travel and food show Parts Unknown maintained a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment located in the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle, which hit the rental market last August, just two months after his death. At the time, that 1,283-square-foot unit was listed for $14,200 a month. The Time Warner Center offers up a number of premium services, including a concierge, full-time doormen, a spa, a residents’ lounge, a screening room, a landscaped sundeck, and a parking garage.
